Epic Vacation!

   For our son’s high school senior year springbreak we wanted to take him on an “epic” vacation.  He would be going off to college in the fall and we wanted to have a vacation that we would all remember for years to come.  We truly got that experience and much of that can be attributed to Tom Karnes of LaMacchia Travel.

We were thinking of going somewhere in Europe but did not have anything specific in mind.  We met with Maria Bonanno and Tom Karnes at LaMacchia to begin planning our vacation.  Tom suggested we consider joining a group already organized through our son’s school to travel to France and Italy.  We decided to join the group so our son would be with other students his age and with whom he was familiar.  A group of approximately 60 adults and teenagers travelled by plane, train and bus through France and Italy.  The entire trip was fantastic and flawless. 

We had just the right amount of scheduled events and free time so we could explore on our own.  We had a tour director who escorted the group throughout the trip. He was personable, knowledge and fun.  In addition, we had local guides with us when we toured local attractions.  They were also knowledgeable and highlighted the various locales. 

This trip was exactly the “epic” vacation we hoped to give our son.  We made friends with the others that were on the trip and have memories for a lifetime.  In fact, we are already discussing where to go next in Europe.  We will again plan our vacation through LaMacchia Travel.

Iberostar Bauaro- Punta Cana

It was beautiful! Paradise in every way. The hotel was well kept and the rooms super nice. We didn't do anything except sit on the beautiful beach and we loved every minute if it. The food was not superior, but we didn't go there for the food.  The breakfasts and coffee were great, but the dinners and lunches were a bit different.  Not a big deal at all.  We honestly loved it and would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks!!!

Maria Bonanno and LaMacchia Travel are the BEST people in the world to book, organize, plan and implement your travel destinations. Met and Bet Travel Club always calls Maria for all of our vacations. We have been on 8 cruises, the last one being on Carnival's Dream on August 11, 2012. We traveled with 38 people all of whom were booked by Maria throughout the years! The ship was fantastic, the food was delicious and the ports-of-call were very interesting and entertaining. Our group went jet skiing, shopping, relaxed on the beaches and some even rode ATV's! Nine of us went on The Sky Ride in St. Thomas which was a thrill! I highly recommend LaMacchia Travel for all of your vacation needs. Next year we are booking an all inclusive vacation to Aruba. We can hardly wait. Thanks Maria!!!! This thank you is very tardy - but I guess I'm hoping you'll accept the "better late than never" excuse. 

The Geliche family had a great time on Spring Break 2011 in Playa del Carmen, Mexico!

The AZUL FIVES was everything you promised. 

The facilities are beautiful and the staff is just unbelievable - they would walk on hot coals for you if that's what you asked them to do!

We never ventured outside of the AZUL FIVES campus (OK we walked long stretches of the beach) - I travel with "chickens" so they felt better just staying put rather than "exploring". Honestly, I was never at a want for anything to do so it was fine with me.

Oh, how can I leave the weather out? 7 spectacular days of sun!!!! Every morning I would wake up, make some coffee in the room, head out to the patio, look up and say "yup, looks like today we'll get some rain (this is at like 6AM) today" and then by 8:30-9AM the sky was clear, the sun was out and the day was once again perfect!

The pools are beautiful - we would have slept next to them if they would have let us. All 4 of us enjoyed the swim up bars - the girls really got used to ordering "virgin" drinks - they thought that was the BEST!
OK, you get it, WE LOVED IT!!!! 

I'm thrilled that we reached out for some help from the professionals (you!) and stopped trying to figure out our vacation plans on our own.

Tom, your staff is great! We had one small issue come up at the end of our stay. I called our agent and ta-da, wha-la…22 seconds later and "no problema!!!".

Bravo to LaMacchia Travel…the 13 year veterans of Spring Break in Disney are now convinced there is "life after Mickey"!!!!

We're thinking about traveling at Christmas rather than exchanging gifts so don't be surprised if you see a new request from the Geliche family. Tony's opinion of Mexico has shifted by 180 degrees so if you ever have a Cancun/Riviera Maya/Playa del Carmen special cross your desk, drop me a line. He's a changed man and thinks it would even be a great place for a long weekend!

We arranged our Globus Taste of Italy with LaMacchia in November for a May departure for our 40th anniversary. It was 10 days of pure bliss, every city was a better wonder than the last. With the help of Jodi we were prepared and ready for our 1st adventure into Italy. All the tips she gave us were right on, including taking our own washcloths (be sure to ready the booklet prepared for you, lots of folks didn't. : )

Our guide in Italy, Igor, was fantastic. He was patient, enthusiatic, informative and very detailed about all our comings and goings taking care of people, reservations, luggage and you name it! We are planning on redoing this trip or something similar in 5 years with friends of ours who want to experience Italy the same way we did. I can't wait.

Thank you Jodi for your help and patience with all my questions and nervousness. We will be using your services again.

When Jon and I decided on Punta Cana for our destination wedding, there was no doubt who we were going to call to help plan it – Rosemarie Passarelli-Habel from LaMacchia Travel. Rosemarie has helped our family plan many wonderful vacations and she is the best in the business. She helped us with the decision to choose the Iberostar Bavaro for our wedding and got us in touch with the wedding coordinator right away. She booked the trip for all 32 of our guests and was more than helpful when anyone had questions about traveling to the Dominican Republic.
