Arrive in Edinburgh on May 17th where you will transfer by bus to Glasgow where we’ve added an extra night’s stay to have time to relax and enjoy this vibrant city even longer! Join your Globus Tour Director for a Group Dinner this evening at 6pm. (DoubleTree By Hilton Glasgow Centralor similar)

Start your day out with breakfast at the hotel and join a group exclusive extended morning city tour and orientation drive to see important sights of this historic city. Travel Leaders is including lunch and an afternoon stop at the Glasgow Cathedral just for our group! The rest of your day is free to explore, dinner will also be on your own. Dive into the Scottish culture today after breakfast and take a scenic cruse on Loch (lake) Lamond which is part of the Trossachs National Park where you will be surrounded by the beauty of the highlands. Next visit Stirling Castle, one of Scotland’s greatest and largest stone castles built in 1496 and shrouded in the country’s history.

Return back to Glasgow for a guided tour of a local whisky distillery and then take an orientation drive of the city seeing landmark such as a 12th-century cathedral, university buildings and Georgian squares. Enjoy a hearty breakfast this morning because we have another busy day in Scotland! Start today’s adventure with a scenic drive past Rannoch Moor and Glen Coe on the way to Fort William to see the gateway to Ben Nevis, the United Kingdom’s highest peak. Savor more of this beautiful area while driving through the Isle of Skye across the Inner Hebridean islands, a sprawling array of islands off Scotland’s west coast. This will lead to a drive past the Eilean Donan Castle which was built on a tiny tidal island in the 13th century but was reconstructed in 1911 after being neglected to the elements.

Next stop is the most fun of all – Loch Ness. Will you catch a glimpse of the infamous Loch Ness Monster, Nessie? Hear of the folklore and firm believers in the legend which is said to swim in the shimmering waters. Lore will lead you on to Inverness to spend the night and enjoy free time this evening. On today’s adventure and visit the Culloden battlefield site and visitors center. The course of British, European and world history was changed at Culloden on 16 April 1746. A ferocious war had come to Scotland, dividing families and setting clan against clan.

Drive through the gorgeous mountains of Cairngorms National Park which is the UK’s largest National Park made up of over 4,500sq km of countryside that resides in this eastern range of the highlands. It is a paradise of breathtaking vistas, rivers, and wetlands that offer a haven to rare and endangered species that thrive here. Watch for eagles on the wing for a thrilling photo opportunity. Stop at the highest village in the Scottish Highlands, Tomintoul. Arrive in Aberdeen where you will spend the night. (The Aberdeen Altens Hotel or similar)

Depart Aberdeen and fancy a spot of coffee with shortbread in Perth. Take a guided visit at Scone Palace, the stately home of the Earls of Mansfield for over 400 years. Continue on where you will have the incredible opportunity to see the fairways and greens at the home of golf – St. Andrews. The game was invented here in the 15th century and is considered the oldest and most legendary course in the world. Wake up in the beautiful capital city of Edinburgh! Our last full day here is full of sightseeing and culture. A Local Guide take you around the New Town, the Old Town, and a visit to Edinburgh Castle to see Scotland’s Crown Jewels. Ascend to Castle Rock to explore Edinburgh Castle, one of the most important historical strongholds in the Kingdom of Scotland, with an 11,000-year history as “the most besieged place in Great Britain”. Here you’ll find the royal regalia and Scotland’s Crown Jewels.

Visit the former Royal Yacht Britannia which was in service for 44 years traveling more than one million nautical miles. Queen Elizabeth II considered it the perfect Royal residence and Great Britain saw it as a symbol of the Commonwealth and ambassador for trade deals. End this beautiful last day in Scotland with a group dinner at a local restaurant and possibly one last walk around town for souvenirs or a glass of local whisky.
